Okay, another 7 months has gone by - this is silly! My life in sugarland is crazy and surreal. We have achieved more than i could have imagined (and i was thinking BIG)! kristenhall.com will be totally rennovated over the next few months so be prepared for lots of cool new things. I am in the process of putting together a "best of" package that will include some new songs. There just isn't time to get a full length CD finished at this time, so... that's the solution. Please go buy the new Courtney Jaye CD "Travelling Light", it is awesome and i am so proud of her. This is her Island Records debut. You may have already heard the first single, "Can't Behave" on your favorite top 40 station. Thanks for being so patient and for all the lovely fanmail and support you have given to me and my new adventure into country music. Hey, we're making history together!!!!!!
LOVE YOU ALL -xo

wow! half a year has gone by since i could make time to update this site, that is scary! sorry y'all! hopefully you have been following the sugarland site (sugarlandmusic.com) and know what"s going on. for every date you see on the tour page, there are 10-20 you don't. that should give you an idea of how busy we have been. we are in the middle of what is called a "radio promotion tour". basically, this means we are travelling the country visiting radio stations, playing some songs live and from the record, and begging them to add our single, "baby girl", to their playlist. we usually start the day at around 7 am - quick shower, pack and leave the hotel, return a rental car, fly somewhere, play a station, have a luncheon with the station, go to another station and play some songs, head off to a soundcheck, play a show, head to a hotel, sleep 6 or 7 hours and start over. now mind you, this is a routine day, many include another flight and a boardroom performace or two at a UMG branch office or radio promo event (ie: a real estate office where someone has won us for an hour). crazy right? but the cool part is it's working. it seems like every place we visit adds the record and wants to support the group. momentum is builing and the single is creeping up the charts. we have been in the top 5 CD singles chart since it was released and are about to break into the top 20 billboard chart (which we have been warned is like guerilla warfare). the record comes out on october 26th (my birthday) and should make this goal attainable. hard to believe all this has been achieved without an album out!?! it shouldn't go without mentioning that my typing has gotten even worse thanks to my blackberry (crackberry). please excuse all typos and punctuation errors...i really can spell and use commas. so what else? jake's ice cream chain is giving us a flavor - sugarland swirl - we designed it ourselves and hopefully it will taste as good as it sounds! white chocolate ice cream with blonde brownies, white chocolate-covered pretzels, and a fudge swirl. how cool is that? also, a winemaker (vintner?) in CA is making us a wine. it's either gonna be sugarland syrah or a meritage. still working that one out. best part for me? i can design the label! out on the road we have visited some legendary places and met some great people, famous and non-famous. reba, vince, wynona, clint, jo dee, dwight, brad paisley, teri clark, crook & chase, amy at CMT, after midnite, AOL, stormy at GAC, a really cute little boy named stumpy in california who is crushed out on jennifer (so cuuute!), rick barker (good buddy), bob griggs who owns a great restaurant in santa ynez (the red barn)and gave us all laminated cards to eat there free forever!, bo derek's boyfriend john (too tired to remember his last name even tho i know it!)who was on sex in the city (and northern exposure...woohooo!)... too many to even name really. what a wonderful and stange trip we are having. please do check out the all-new sugarlandmusic.com. and for God's sake, buy the CD and request it on the radio in your town! we have learned that calling outside a stations listening area does absolutely no good at all. in fact, it makes them mad at us... so, time is much better used calling your hometown station. well, hope this begins to get us caught up. apologize for being away so long. it's always a bright spot to meet and old kristen hall fan on the sugarland trail. your support over the years has meant the world to me. as soon as things quiet down a bit, i have tons of new material i'm excited to release...so know, it's coming!
big, big love to you...
Kristen
